What happens if the data provider changes the API specifications of a Pull API data offering on which I have an ongoing acquisition?

Modified on Tue, 7 Oct, 2025 at 9:52 AM

When you have a valid acquisition of a data offering via Pull API, the data provider may, at any time, modify the API specifications of its offering if it wishes to do so.

In this case, you will be notified as soon as the data provider:

  • activates a new version for an existing API

  • adds a new API with an activated version

  • deactivates an API

Not receiving notifications?

This notification is normally enabled by default. You may have disabled it.

To receive notifications, go to “Notification preferences” and enable the “Impactful change on an acquired API” notification in the “Data delivery” section.

These notifications are only sent once per hour. Therefore, if the data provider modifies the APIs for the same data offering several times within the same hour, you will only be notified once.

You can also find the changes made by the data provider directly on the Participant Portal in the Transactions > Acquirer > Access Data.
