How does the Data Exchange Solution handle new files added to a storage connector in a subscription-based data offering?

Modified on Wed, 19 Nov, 2025 at 9:23 AM

The Data Exchange Solution (DXS) scans the connectors configured on a subscription-based data offering once per hour to identify whether new files have been added since the last scan.

The DXS determines whether a new file is present in the storage connector by analyzing each file for:

  • the file name,

  • the file extension,

  • the file hash (a unique value that corresponds to the file's content).

A file will only be identified as new if one or more of these three elements are different from all the files already present in the data offering.

In this case, the new file will be added to the data offering and transmitted to all the data acquirers who have an ongoing data transaction.

In the case of an update to a file already present in the storage connector, updating the file will result in a change to its hash. The file will then be identified as new by the DXS and added to the data offering.
