How do I make a data acquisition?

Modified on Wed, 27 May at 10:38 AM

To find out which payment methods are available, see What payment method should I use to acquire a data offering?

If a data offering interests you, you can acquire it.

The acquisition can be:

  • Immediate: instant

  • After provider approval: upon validation

The acquisition process is guided:

  1. Select the desired license* as well as,

  2. the subscription duration, if this is a subscription-based offering

  3. the price, for file-based data offerings

    1. Price per offering, for non-subscription data offerings: applies to the entire data offering, regardless of the number of files added to the offering

    2. Price per file: applies to the acquisition of individual files and may vary from one file to another

For data offerings subject to an acquisition request, the provider must approve your request before you can finalize the transaction. Only after approval can the data acquirer proceed to the next steps in the acquisition process.

  1. Make sure to select the correct signatory for the transaction

  2. Review and complete the billing information based on your role; otherwise, ask someone with the necessary permissions.

  3. Finalize the acquisition

  4. Proceed with payment for the transaction if it is a paid data offering.

  5. Access the acquired data

*If the data offering comes with an open data license, the acquisition steps are not included. The acquisition is immediate.

Accessing acquired data

Once the transaction is complete, the data acquirer can find the files under “Transactions” > “Acquirer”.
